6th Grade Humanities
Our humanities program will blend literature, history, writing, and the arts in order to explore and learn about the human experience in our diverse world. Through the use of thematic units that incorporate technology, humanities will provide students with a rich opportunity to become open-minded readers, writers, and thinkers.

Topic: Ancient Rome Topic: Ancient Greece
Activities: Students will be learning about Ancient Rome Activities: Students will be creating an action figure
through centers and literature circles. They will be reading, based upon Greek god and godesses. They will
analyzing, and discussing books at their level to discover also be reading and analyzing Greeky myths.

We are currently working on personal narratives. Students We will continue to work on personal narratives while
are doing a great job of writing seed stories that start with incorporating mini lessons on paragraphing, dialogue,
leads, include deails, and have effective endings. and internal and external conflicts. Next we will be
writing a persuasive essay.
